Living room color schemes For the living room, opting for neutral colors such as gray, tan, cream and beige will be ideal. This is because neutral colors go very well with all types and shapes of furniture, flooring and accessories. So, if you are someone who likes to use lots of accessories, bright colored furniture and fabrics, with plenty of differently shaped rugs and carpets thrown in here and there in the living room, then I suggest go in for neutral shades for the walls as well as the ceiling.
For the dining room, color combinations with red or just plain red color on the walls, with a contrasting white on the ceiling, will look good. If you have paid attention, you must have noticed that many restaurants have walls which are painted in red color. This is because red is a color that signifies passion, vitality, hunger and desires.
